Acadiana Profile Magazine is on the grow and is seeking applications
for employment for various jobs – both full-time and part-time – that
come open from time to time.

In addition to staff employees, we also invite queries and submissions
from freelance writers, photographers, artists, editors and book reviewers.

STAFF POSITIONS



Editor/Writer

Experienced journalist to edit and write feature stories, news briefs, book reviews, etc. Good
opportunity for advancement. Must have degree in print journalism and strong skills in copy
editing, photo editing, assigning stories, research, interviewing and feature story writing.
Management skills a plus; MAGAZINE journalism experience a plus.

Full-time only




Graphic Artist

Artist designs and produces Acadiana Profile Magazine – including ads, magazine covers
and interior pages. Job also requires production of various fliers, signage and promotional
materials. Artist also designs and produces books published by Acadian House Publishing,
the parent company of Acadiana Profile Magazine.

We work with PCs, but will consider Mac users. Must have experience in magazine, newspaper,
book publishing or advertising production. (Samples will be required) Knowledge of Adobe
InDesign, Adobe PhotoShop
and other programs required.

College degree in advertising design/commercial art a plus.

Ad Sales Representative

Energetic, resourceful sales rep. to sell and service advertising for Acadiana Profile Magazine.
Prospective advertisers are assigned by territory and by specific account.

The company provides salary, commission, benefits, training, clerical support and art
department support

Bookkeeper

The bookkeeper works in all aspects of accounting: accounts receivable, accounts payable,
daily invoicing, bank deposits, sales reports, profit & loss statements, etc. Experience
required; knowledge of Quick Books or similar accounting software needed.

General Office Worker

This employee is responsible for various office duties, including receptionist work, light
record keeping, opening mail, helping in accounting chores, filing, photocopying, etc.

Full-time or part-time




Shipping Clerk / Warehouse Manager

This worker ships magazines and books daily; maintains orderly shipping department and storage
facility; and procures necessary shipping supplies.

Some physical work is involved, requiring the movement of books on a dolly between warehouse,
vehicle, office building and post office, etc.

Editing of book-length manuscripts that will be published by Acadian House Publishing,
the parent company of Acadiana Profile Magazine.




Book Reviewing

Reading, evaluating and reporting on book manuscripts being considered for publication
by Acadian House Publishing, the parent company of Acadiana Profile Magazine.
