- Worked as Funeral Director until 1966
- Joined U. S. Army to attend Warrant Officer’s Flight School

- Went to Vietnam as Helicopter Pilot in 1967, flying as Scout Helicopter Pilot with American Division, conducting operations in I Corps
- After helicopter crash in August, 1968, was evacuated to the 106th General Hospital in Japan; remained there until December, 1968
- Reassigned to Fort Rucker, Alabama as Instructor Pilot.
- Received direct commission to First Lieutenant in January, 1970
- Attended University of South Carolina and Troy State University
- Military career included assignments at Fort Rucker, Alabama; Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Korea; Fort Ord, California; Fort Hood, Texas; and points in Hawaii
- Retired from the military in 1983
- Flew as Commercial Pilot for seven years
- Worked as a Veterans Assistance Counselor Supervisor for the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs in Lafayette, LA
- Received Soldier’s Medal in Washington, DC on 6 March, 1998 for heroism in Vietnam
- Resident of Louisiana since 1979
- Deceased 06 January, 2006 in Alexandria, Louisiana
